Rates are determined on a case by case basis due to the greatly differing needs and resources of each client. I have 2 years college in long term care administation, and over 2 years accumulated experience in direct care. I often say- "I love the little ones and the elderly... I'm not too sure about the ones in between". This is basically true though, because most elders have outgrown the evil ways in life and learned from it , and children are still basically innocent, free from evil.
Those ages in between are the years when evil has the most influence, and so I am more cautious.
I am very protective of the elderly, disabled, and children. They are the most vulnerable in society, and deserve only the most caring and compassionate caregivers.
